About Us

Maywood Center for Enriched Studies (MaCES) was established in 2017 and is the newest school in the Los Angeles Unified School District. The Magnet is recognized as a leading educational institution, being one of only three School of Enriched Studies in the District. The SPAN campus is located in the South East region of LAUSD and serves over 1200 students in grades 6-12.

MaCES provides students with a rigorous curriculum and a humanistic school environment with personalization between teachers, students, and parents. Courses are aligned to develop academic abilities, artistic talents, leadership, and athletic skills. 

Students experience breadth and depth within their academic course of study and enhance their experience with elective courses in the arts. MaCES ensures all students take an intensive and rigorous A-G course load to prepare them to apply and smoothly transition to a four-year college/university and careers in the 21st-century global economy. 

As a renowned academic institution, MaCES has received the state's California Exemplary Arts Education Award and the California Courts' esteemed Civic Learning Award. US News and World Reports recognize it as a "Best School."
