AP Capstone Program
AP Capstone Program
The two-year AP Capstone program at MaCES is designed for students in grades 10-12. This program comprises two yearlong courses: AP Seminar and AP Research.
Why It’s Unique
Unlike traditional courses that focus on subject-specific content, the AP Capstone program at MaCES emphasizes developing essential skills such as research, analysis, evidence-based arguments, collaboration, writing, and presenting. Completing the program allows students to earn one of two AP Capstone awards, which are highly regarded by colleges across the U.S. and internationally. This program equips students with the tools needed for advanced AP courses and college-level coursework.
AP Capstone Diploma
To earn the AP Capstone Diploma, students must achieve a score of 3 or higher in both AP Seminar and AP Research, and also score a 3 or higher in four additional AP courses. This diploma is an excellent way for students to either start their journey in AP coursework or further develop their skills to excel in multiple AP classes.
